Course Overview

Entry Requirements

To apply for this course, you will need to write a personal statement. In this statement, please explain your reasons for wanting to study this specific course and provide any other information about your previous studies that is relevant to your application. 

You will also need to get a reference letter from a teacher or an employer who knows you academically or professionally. If you have any work experience, you can also include your CV with your application to give us more details.

Grade Requirements:

  • For entry in 2025, the standard academic requirements are 112 UCAS tariff points. You can achieve these points through qualifications like A Levels, BTEC Extended Diploma at MPP, BTEC Diploma at MM, T Levels, or the International Baccalaureate. 
  • The university also accepts international qualifications that are equivalent to A Levels.

English Proficiency:

  • If you are an international applicant, you need to show that you have a good understanding of the English language by getting an overall score of 6.0 in the IELTS with a minimum score of 5.5 in each of the four parts. 
  • The university also accepts other English language qualifications that are equal to IELTS, such as TOEFL and PTE Academic.

Cost of Study

For international students, the tuition fee for the first year of study is £20,950. Please remember that the university might increase these fees in the following years of your course.

Scholarships

Northumbria University provides several scholarships for international students who want to study undergraduate or postgraduate courses. If you are an international student starting a postgraduate taught programme in September 2025 or January 2026, you might be able to get a discount of £3,000 on your tuition fees. 

There are also special scholarships for students from specific countries, such as Nigeria and India, which offer different amounts of financial help. For international students who are starting an undergraduate course in September 2025, the International Scholarship can help to reduce the cost of your tuition fees for the first year.
