BSc Nursing Science

The BSc Nursing Science course at Northumbria University is a three-year programme designed to prepare students for a career as a Registered Nurse (Adult). The coursework is structured to follow the Nursing and Midwifery Council's (NMC) standards, using theory with practical placements in various clinical settings to teach the students.

Candidates must submit a personal statement, an academic or employer reference, and, optionally, a CV to give a picture of their work experience. Candidates will also attend an interview for a satisfactory health check and have a suitable DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Enhanced Certificate.

Grade Requirements:

• Candidates need UCAS tariff points between 96 and 112 and a Level 3 qualification, such as A-levels or BTEC Diplomas.
• Candidates need a GCSE with a minimum of grade 4/C in both Maths and English Language.

English Proficiency:

• Candidates need an overall score of 6.5 in the IELTS Academic test, with no component score below 5.5.
• PTE and TOEFL are also accepted.

For the 2025/26 academic year, the annual tuition fee for international students studying the BSc Nursing Science course is approximately £19,350.
