PhD Human Sciences

Course Overview

The PhD Human Sciences at the University of Greenwich is a flexible programme that usually takes 3-4 years for full-time students and 4-7 years for part-time students. It helps students conduct advanced research in areas like Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, and Sports Science. Students work closely with experienced supervisors and have access to modern facilities, such as observation labs and technology that tracks eye movements and brain activity.

During the programme, students learn advanced research methods and build skills in critical thinking, analysis, and communication. Their assessments focus on the quality and originality of their thesis, as well as their ability to present and defend their research. The course is supported by the Institute for Lifecourse Development (ILD), which encourages collaboration and offers resources for research students.

After graduating, students can pursue careers in universities, research organisations, healthcare, and social services. Other job opportunities may be in public health policy, sports science consulting, and nonprofit organisations that work on community development.
