LLM Legal Practice

Course Overview

The LLM Legal Practice at Teesside University is designed for law graduates who want to become solicitors through the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) route, while also earning a master’s degree. It is specifically tailored for those who have previously studied the foundational areas of law such as Contract Law, Criminal Law, and Land Law. The course develops advanced professional skills and practical knowledge essential for success in legal practice.

A key feature of the programme is the Law Clinic module, which gives students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by providing free legal advice to real clients under the supervision of a qualified solicitor. Teaching combines interactive lectures with practical workshops, ensuring students are well-prepared for real-world challenges. Assessment methods mirror the official SQE1 and SQE2 exams and include multiple-choice tests, written problem-solving tasks, and practical exercises.a
