BSc Computer Science Digital Forensics

Course Overview

The BSc (Hons) Computer Science (Digital Forensics) at Keele University gives students a strong foundation in computing, maths, and programming. Students will gain the technical skills to fight cybercrime, learning how to conduct digital investigations, collect evidence, and understand the laws behind it all. The course is taught in a special digital forensics lab.

The course focuses on hands-on programming and software development. Students will get to grips with forensic science, problem-solving, and the methods for finding evidence. The programme is set up to teach students how to find and analyse evidence, carry out digital investigations, write reports, and put together evidence that can be used in court.

Entry Requirements for Sri Lankan Students

When applying, applicants will need to submit a personal statement that explains why they want to take this course and includes any other important details about their education. A reference from a past teacher or employer is also necessary. Applicants can also choose to upload their CV with their application to show their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants are required to have a minimum of 120 UCAS points, which is achieved with grades of BBB at A-Level or BBC, provided that one of the B grades is in Maths or Computer Science.
  • A BTEC Extended Diploma with DDM is also a suitable qualification. We also welcome applications from individuals who have strong, relevant work experience, even if they don't have traditional academic qualifications.

English Proficiency:

  • If the applicant's first language is not English, applicants will need to show they are proficient by taking an approved test and an overall IELTS score of 6.0, with no less than 5.5 in any section.
  • Alternatively, students may submit equivalent scores from other tests such as TOEFL or PTE Academic.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for this course for international students is £17,700 per year.
