LLB Law

Course Overview

The Birmingham City University LLB Law programme is specifically designed to provide a strong foundation for a career in law. This course meets the requirements for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) and also aligns with the standards set by the Bar Standards Board. Entry Requirements

You are required to submit a personal statement in which you discuss your reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding your studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. You also have the option to upload their CV along with your applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements: 

  • Applicants typically need 112 UCAS Tariff points, including A-Levels, BTEC, T Levels, and Access to Higher Education Diplomas. 
  • The university accepts international qualifications that are equivalent to A-levels.

English Proficiency: 

  • For applicants whose primary language is not English, an IELTS score of 6.0 overall is required, with no individual component scoring below 5.5. 
  • Other equivalent English language test scores, like PTE and TOEFL, are also accepted.

Cost of Study

For the 2025/26 academic year, the tuition fee for international students taking the LLB Law at Birmingham City University is £17,690.

Scholarships

There are several scholarship opportunities at Birmingham City University to assist undergraduate students with their studies. These include the High Achievers' Scholarship, offering £1,000 to those achieving 144 UCAS points, and the Accelerate Scholarship, also worth £1,000, for students from lower-income households.
