The BSc (Hons) Politics and Sociology is a combined degree that examines the  relationship between political structures, power dynamics, and societal change. This course explores how political ideologies, governance systems, and social theories intersect with cultural, economic, and institutional frameworks.

Entry Requirements

Grade Requirements  

Entry requirements vary by university, but common offers include:  

  • A-Levels: ABB–BBC, including at least one essay-based subject (e.g., Politics, Sociology, History, or Economics)  

  • International Baccalaureate (IB): 30–34 points, with Higher Level subjects in relevant disciplines  

  • BTEC Extended Diploma: DDM in a related field (e.g., Social Sciences, Public Services)  

  • Access to HE Diploma: 60 credits, with at least 30 credits at Distinction in relevant subjects  

  • GCSE/National 4/National 5: Grade C/4 in English Language and Mathematics

 

English Proficiency 

For international students, English language requirements typically include proof of proficiency through one of the following:  

  • IELTS: Minimum overall score of 6.5  

  • TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, or equivalent qualifications
