MPH Master of Public Health

The MPH Master of Public Health at Teesside University, Middlesbrough, equips students with the knowledge and skills to address modern public health challenges and social health inequalities. The course explores both local and global health issues, focusing on the political, social, and environmental determinants of health.

Students study key modules such as Data Analysis Methods, Developing Research Projects, Leadership and Management in Public Health, and Public Health in Context, alongside a major dissertation. Assessments include essays, research proposals, written assignments, module exams, and a final dissertation or project.

Students enrolled in the two-year (Applied) version also have the opportunity to complete a vocational or research internship, providing valuable hands-on experience in real-world public health environments.

Grade Requirements:

Applicants must hold at least a second-class (2:2) honours degree in a relevant subject such as Health, Life Sciences, Social Sciences, or a related discipline. Candidates with degrees in other areas may also be considered if they have significant professional experience in public health, health policy, or a similar field.

English Language Requirements:

Applicants from non-English-speaking backgrounds must achieve an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no band lower than 5.5, or an equivalent English language qualification.
