BSc Nursing Studies Child

The BSc Nursing Studies (Child) is a three-year full-time programme structured in alignment with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards. The course is equally divided between theory (50%) and practice (50%), with clinical placements in a variety of child health settings including children's wards, school nursing, and neonatal units. Students will study child development, family-centred care, safeguarding, health promotion, and pharmacology.

Practical skills are developed in a specialist children’s nursing laboratory equipped with modern simulation technology. Teaching is delivered through a blend of in-person seminars, online learning, and contributions from experienced child nurses and healthcare professionals.

International students applying for the BSc Nursing Studies (Child) programme must meet both academic and English language requirements as outlined below:

Grade Requirements:

• 112 UCAS points from a QAA-recognised Access course (any subject combination accepted).
• At least two GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including English language and mathematics.
• For GCE and VCE Advanced Level: 112 UCAS points from two or three A levels, or equivalent T levels.

English Proficiency:

• An IELTS overall score of 7.0 with a minimum of 7.0 in all components, or equivalent tests such as PTE Academic.

The tuition fee for international students enrolling in the BSc Nursing Studies (Child) programme at Teesside University is £17,000 per academic year.

Teesside University provides a non-repayable scholarship of £5,000 for all new and continuing eligible students each academic year to help with tuition fees. Additionally, eligible students may apply for reimbursement towards travel and accommodation expenses incurred during practice placements.
