The BSc (Hons) Computer and Digital Forensics course, which includes a foundation year, teaches students how to investigate, prevent, and detect digital crime and terrorist threats. Students will learn about file formats, data recovery, networking, communication rules, security, cryptography, reverse engineering, and investigative techniques, using industry-standard tools.
The foundation year prepares students with essential skills in computational thinking, programming fundamentals, and information systems. Throughout the course, students gain practical experience through various teaching methods, including lectures, workshops, laboratory work, and project assignments, learning to prepare and present digital evidence.

Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds typically need an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with no section lower than 5.5, or submit equivalent recognised test scores such as PTE (59 overall) or TOEFL (72 overall). For the International Foundation Year, alternative English proficiency tests might be accepted.
International students' tuition fee is £17,000 per year.
Teesside University provides scholarships designed to support eligible international students. These include the Vice Chancellor's Scholarship, which offers a £7,000 fee reduction in the first year for students showing outstanding potential to be future global leaders. Additionally, the Global Excellence Scholarship provides a £2,000 fee reduction in the first academic year for international students who show strong academic performance in their application, and this is available for students on foundation, undergraduate or postgraduate programmes, although those on pathway programmes at Teesside University International Study Centre are considered upon progression to a full degree.

Furthermore, current international undergraduate students who continue to postgraduate study at Teesside University may be eligible for a £1,000 Alumni Scholarship.
