Course Overview

BEng (Hons) Instrumentation and Control Engineering (with Foundation Year) at Teesside University, Middlesbrough, is a four-year full-time programme (five years with an optional industrial placement). The degree is professionally accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council.

This course introduces students to the main fields of engineering, including instrumentation, control theory, sensors and transducers, process dynamics, measurement techniques, system integration, and programming. Entry Requirements for Pakistani Students

Applicants must submit academic transcripts or certificates of previous qualifications, a copy of their passport, a personal statement, a reference or recommendation letter, and proof of financial support (for visa purposes).

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants can apply with a mix of accepted Level 3 qualifications such as A Levels, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications from their home country (for example, high school or secondary school certificates).
  • At least a Grade C (Grade 4) in GCSE Mathematics or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Applicants who do not meet the requirements can complete online Summer short courses to qualify.

English Proficiency:

  • IELTS overall score of 6.0 (with no component below 5.5).
  • Other accepted tests include TOEFL iBT (minimum 79), Pearson PTE Academic (minimum 59), and Trinity ISE II (Pass).
  • Applicants who have passed English in their secondary or high school qualifications may also be accepted.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for international students studying BEng (Hons) Instrumentation and Control Engineering (with Foundation Year) at Teesside University is £17,000 per year. This fee is reviewed annually by the university.
