MSc Construction Project Management with BIM

Course Overview

The MSc Construction Project Management with BIM at Northumbria University, Newcastle, is designed for individuals having some level of experience in construction. Students will be able to attain transferable skills in project management and develop specialist skills and knowledge of construction projects. Also, students will learn how the use of the Building Information Modelling (BIM) enhances construction efficiency. This course is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).

The programme covers learning in areas such as procurement and supply chain management, theory and practice, people in project management, integrated building information modelling projects, and construction project planning and delivery. Teaching methods include lectures, small group seminars, workshops, master classes, and field visits. Assessment methods include assignments, written reports, exams, group presentations and debates. Students will also undertake a Master's project on a topic of interest, to sharpen their skills in evaluating and applying research techniques and methodologies.

About University

Northumbria University is a public research university located in Newcastle, North East England.  The university has its origins in the Rutherford College, founded in 1877. It then became Newcastle Polytechnic in 1969 before gaining university status in 1992. The university has approximately 38,300 students.

The campus provides several facilities to support students' learning. These facilities include classrooms, a Psychology and Communication Technology (PaCT) lab, a library, clinics, science labs, studios, sports centres, and several learning spaces. Dedicated students’ support services are also provided to students throughout their studies.

The university has approximately 20,580 undergraduates and 10,045 postgraduate students studying across its four faculties. Entry Requirements for Pakistani Students

All interested applicants are to submit a personal statement discussing their interest in the MSc Construction Project Management with BIM and relevant academic or professional qualifications, including an academic or employer reference. A CV may be uploaded to show any relevant work experience.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants whose first language is not English require an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with no component below 6.0.
  • Other equivalents, such as TOEFL or PTE, are accepted.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for this programme in the 2025/26 academic year is £20,950 for international students. Tuition fees are reviewed annually and are subject to change.

Scholarships

Northumbria University, Newcastle, offers scholarships and bursaries to full-time eligible international students to help fund their studies. The European Union (EU) scholarship gives students who wish to study for a postgraduate degree a scholarship of up to £3,000, awarded on a case-by-case basis. International students can also qualify for the London Cost of Living Bursary worth £1,334 to cover living costs for one month in London.
