BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Course Overview

The BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering course has official recognition from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). Its goal is to give students practical, technical, analytical, and hands-on skills, getting them ready for a fantastic job as an electrical and electronic engineer. The programme teaches many subjects, such as control systems that use microprocessors, the Internet of Things (IoT), how to change power, and storing energy in batteries, all with a focus on using electronics to solve real-world problems.

Entry Requirements for Pakistani Students

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information about their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to show their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants need a BBC at A-Level, which must include Mathematics or Physics. If you are taking a BTEC Extended Diploma, you would need to achieve DDM, including relevant units in Mathematics or Physics.
  • For the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, a score of 28 points is required. All applicants must also have achieved a Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE Mathematics and English Language, or an equivalent qualification.

English Proficiency:

  • If English is not the applicant's first language, an Academic IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with no part of the test (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing) scoring below 5.5. 
  • The university also accepts equivalent scores from other recognised English language tests, such as TOEFL, PTE Academic, and Cambridge English qualifications.

Cost of Study

The annual tuition fee for the BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering course for full-time study for International students is £20,950 per year.
