The MSc Microbiology (with Advanced Practice) course offers students the opportunity to gain knowledge of microbiology by investigating topics relevant to industry and clinical labs. The Advanced Practice aspect allows the students to gain experience through a 12-week internship in a vocational or academic research setting.
Students will be taught in state-of-the-art Bios labs and access research opportunities at the National Horizons Centre (NHC). Assessment includes examinations, in-course assignments, oral presentations, summaries, literature surveys, and technical reports. The Advanced Practice module is assessed separately using an individual written reflective report of 3000 words and a poster presentation.
