MSc Microbiology

The MSc Microbiology programme offers a deeper academic understanding of microbiology. The programme trains students with improved knowledge and skills for work in clinical, industrial, or research settings. Students will be taught using experiments in Bios labs and research at the National Horizons Centre (NHC). Students are assessed through exams, in-course assignments, oral presentations, evaluations, summaries, technical reports, and literature surveys.

Grade Requirements:

• Candidates need a minimum of a 2.2 UK honours degree, or an equivalent international qualification in science subjects such as biomedical science, biochemistry, biological sciences, human biology, and forensic biology.
• Other international qualifications equivalent to a degree are also accepted.
• If you do not meet the requirements, the university may offer you an alternative access route.

English Proficiency:

• Candidates need to score at least 6.0 overall in the IELTS test, with no component below 5.5.
• Other English language test scores, such as PTE Academic and TOEFL IBT tests, are accepted.

The international students’ tuition fee for the MSc Microbiology programme at Teesside University is £17,000.
