The MSc Housing Innovation and Design focuses on home construction for a sustainable and creative living space in the future. The programme looks at new materials, building techniques, and design concepts for homes, considering the health needs, well-being, and accessibility of all homeowners.
This programme challenges traditional home concepts by combining technological and social perspectives in the building sector. The course is supported in partnership with different university departments and George Clarke's MOBIE initiative.
Students are taught through a combination of practical and theoretical experiences, with group work and collaborative projects. Students are assessed using an important Future Home Design Project, which can be a digital model, physical structure, or a 10,000-word dissertation, followed by a presentation and verbal examination (viva).
