BSc Radiotherapy and Oncology

Course Overview

The University of Suffolk BSc Radiotherapy and Oncology programme trains students to become Therapeutic Radiographers, who use X-rays and other ionising radiations to treat patients diagnosed with cancer. This course curriculum is centred on proper planning and delivery of treatment, as well as providing a high standard of patient care and the development of effective interpersonal skills.

The course will be given in a block and blend format, including a practice element, with clinical placements taking up about 60 per cent of the course in regional NHS cancer centres. Graduates can be eligible to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), which is a requirement to work in the NHS and any other position in the field of radiotherapy.
