MSc International Business Finance and Economics

Course Overview

The MSc International Business Finance and Economics at the University of East Anglia (UEA) is a career-focused programme designed to equip you with essential skills in Economics, International Finance, and Business Strategy. The course is a part of UEA’s Applied Training Programme, which provides a strong foundation in economic principles while offering specialist insights into the global economy.

Through a blend of compulsory modules, hands-on training, and expert supervision, you’ll develop expertise in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Econometrics. Pre-sessional training ensures you’re well-prepared with key statistical techniques and experience using STATA, a leading econometric software. You’ll also gain practical knowledge of online data sources to support your dissertation research.

Over the course of 12 months, you’ll study core subjects in the autumn semester before selecting specialist modules in the spring. Your learning journey will lead to a dissertation, where you’ll apply your analytical skills to a topic of your choice. This is guided by experienced faculty members from UEA’s School of Economics.

Entry Requirements

To study MSc International Business Finance and Economics at the University of East Anglia, students are expected to meet the following requirements: 

Grade Requirements:

  • A minimum of lower second-class honours (2:2) in any subject area is required. 

English Proficiency: 

  • An IELTS Academic/Indicator overall score of 6.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing and Speaking and 5.5 in Reading and Listening. Equivalent English proficiency tests are also accepted.

Cost of Study

International students who want to enrol in the 2025/2026 academic session are to pay a tuition fee of £22,700. UK students are to pay £11,800.

Scholarships

The University of East Anglia (UEA) is committed to supporting international students by offering a range of scholarships and financial aid to help ease the cost of studying.

Postgraduate students enrolling in September 2025 can apply for the International PG Merit Scholarship, which provides up to £5,000 in tuition fee reductions for eligible candidates.

For undergraduate students, the International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship offers up to £4,000 in financial assistance, helping to make studying at UEA more affordable.
