MSc Forensic Science

Course Overview

The MSc Forensic Science programme focuses on analytical methods, practices, and procedures used to help criminal investigations. This programme is accredited by The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences, the international professional body. After completing the course students will have an advanced knowledge of forensic science and apply it in criminal investigation.

Students will gain experience in the University's forensic facilities that include special analytical labs and a crime scene house lab. Students are assessed using assignments that include a courtroom-based expert witness assessment, in-course assignments, and final examinations.

Entry Requirements for Nepalese Students

Candidates need to submit a personal statement and relevant information regarding their studies, an academic and/or employer reference, and their CVs to show their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Candidates need at least a 2.2 UK honours degree, or an equivalent international qualification in science subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, and Forensic Science.
  • Other International qualifications equivalent to a degree are also accepted.

English Proficiency:

  • Candidates need to score at least 6.5 overall in the IELTS test, with no component below 5.5.
  • Other English language test scores, such as PTE Academic and TOEFL IBT test, are accepted, amongst others.

Cost of Study

The international students’ tuition fee for the MSc Forensic Science programme at Teesside University is £17,000.
