Course Details

BSc (Hons) History and English is a joint honors degree that takes students through a combination of historical analysis and literary studies. Basically, this course digs into historical events and their influence on literature.


In the History part of the course, you'll analyse historical documents, historical periods and learn to analyse primary sources, and also develop research skills. In the English Literature aspect, you’ll study literature from different eras, genres and cultures. This course will help you understand literary movements in their historical contexts.

Grade Requirements

 

  • Most universities require applicants to have an A-Levels qualification with BBB to AAB (including English Literature/Language or History).

  • Some accept BTEC with DDM to DDD in relevant subjects.

  • For international students, universities typically require 32-34 points with Higher Level English and History in International Baccalaureate.

  • Some universities accept QAA-recognised Access to HE Diploma with Merit or Distinction profile in relevant subjects.
