Entry Requirements

To study BA (Hons) Illustration in the UK, you need a level 3 qualification or an equivalent qualification. Here are some of the qualifications accepted:

  • A-Level in Art and Design or related creative subject

  • BTEC Extended Diploma

  • Foundation Diploma in Art & Design

Additionally, some universities may require a portfolio of creative work showing your artistic skills and potential.

 

Grade Requirements

 

Applicants will need a minimum of 112-120 UCAS points from A-Levels (usually including Art & Design) and the following:

  • Minimum of BBC in A-Levels

  • Merit or Distinction for Foundation Diploma in Art & Design

  • DMM in Art & Design subjects for BTEC Extended Diploma

 

English Language Requirements

 

Non-native English speakers may need to demonstrate proficiency in the language, typically through an IELTS score of at least 6.5. TOEFL or other equivalents are also allowed.

 

International Requirements

 

  • High School Diploma with good grades in art subjects

  • 28–30 points total in International Baccalaureate with Visual Arts

  • Country-specific qualifications are also accepted if equivalent to UK standards
