This master's course is practical and prepares students for careers in the growing radio, audio, and podcasting sector. The programme offers hands-on experience in radio production, presentation, and station management, and is fully integrated with the award-winning student-run community station, Spark Sunderland.
Learning involves a variety of methods, including lectures, practical workshops, and seminars, with assessment through projects, presentations, essays, and a major practical project or dissertation. Students receive training in professional equipment, including ProTools and SADiE6, and develop skills in advanced interviewing, editing, and creative post-production.

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying to the course and other relevant information regarding their studies.
