This special four-year degree is for people who want to become secondary school teachers and have completed a relevant HND from a college in Scotland. The first two years are spent at college, followed by direct entry into the third and fourth years at the University of Strathclyde. The course is officially recognised by the General Teaching Council for Scotland.

The programme teaches them professional values, inquiry-based learning, and practical teaching skills. This prepares graduates to become qualified teachers in either Home Economics or Technological Education.
