BSc Professional Policing

The BSc Professional Policing at Teesside University follows the National Policing Curriculum and equips students with the knowledge, skills, and practical understanding required for a successful career in law enforcement. The course focuses on evidence-based policing methods designed to protect and serve the public effectively.

Upon graduation, students will be ready to pursue careers in the police service, military police, or other parts of the criminal justice system. The qualification remains valid for five years after completion for police recruitment eligibility.

Teaching takes place through a combination of lectures, workshops, case studies, and practical sessions in state-of-the-art facilities, including a replica police station, mock courtroom, and crime scene house. Students are taught by former policing professionals and academic experts who use real-world examples to make learning highly relevant. Grade Requirements:

• UCAS Tariff: Between 80 and 104 points from at least two A-levels or equivalent qualifications such as T-levels.
• GCSE Requirement: English at grade 4 (C) or equivalent.
• RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning): Applicants with relevant work, volunteering, or life experience will also be considered.

English Proficiency:

• Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency with an IELTS overall score of 6.0 (no component below 5.5), or an equivalent SELT qualification.

The tuition fee for international students enrolled in the BSc Professional Policing at Teesside University is £17,000 per year. Fees are subject to annual review and may change slightly each year.

Teesside University offers financial support options which may include scholarships for eligible students, typically given as a reduction in the tuition fee. International applicants for this undergraduate course may be eligible for general university-wide awards. These include the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship (£7,000 fee waiver) and the Global Excellence Scholarship (£2,000 fee waiver) for students with outstanding academic backgrounds.
