MSc Health Psychology

Course Overview

The MSc Health Psychology at Northumbria University, Newcastle is a full-time postgraduate programme that runs for the period of one year. The course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) which is the first stage of clinical training.

Entry Requirements for Indian Students

Candidates are to submit a statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other important information regarding their studies, an academic and/or employer reference and  CVs along with their applications.

 

Grade Requirements:

  • Candidates need a minimum of a second-class (2.2) honours degree in Psychology, which must provide eligibility for the Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society (BPS). 
  • If a candidate's first degree was not completed in the UK, they must apply to the BPS for GBC consideration and provide written confirmation.

English Proficiency:

  • Candidates need an overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5, with no component lower than 6.0. 
  • Other test scores, such as PTE and TOEFL, are also accepted.

Cost of Study

The annual tuition fee for the MSc Health Psychology for the 2025/26 academic year is £20,950.

Scholarships

Northumbria University offers several scholarships for international students, including the Northumbria International Scholarship, which offers a £3,000 fee reduction for eligible postgraduate students starting in September 2025 or January 2026.
