The BA in Creative Writing and English Literature with a Year Abroad at the University of East Anglia (UEA) can be completed within four years. Grade Requirements
International applicants are required to have achieved AAA at A-Level, including English Literature or related subjects (e.g., History, Politics, or Media Studies), or provide international equivalents.
For the International Baccalaureate, students must have 34 points overall, with 6 in a Higher Level subject, such as English, History, or Psychology.
English Proficiency
Applicants should have an overall IELTS score of at least 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill area. Please note that the test results must be dated within two years before the course begins to be considered valid.
Students who are nationals of certain countries may be exempt from providing proof of English proficiency.
For the 2025/26 academic year, international students enrolled in the University of East Anglia’s BA Creative Writing and English Literature with a Year Abroad programme will pay £22,000 in tuition and £5,500 for the year abroad. Fees could increase annually by 4%.
The University of East Anglia offers a range of scholarships to help international students. Among these, the International PG Merit Scholarship provides up to £5,000 off tuition fees for postgraduate study, and the UEA One Year American Library Scholarship gives a £10,000 fee discount to US citizens enrolled in full-time research programmes.
