The BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering and Computer Science is an interdisciplinary degree that combines core principles of Electrical and Electronic Engineering with Computer Science. The programme equips students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to design, develop, and optimize digital systems, embedded computing, and intelligent automation.

Grade Requirements

Entry requirements vary by institution, but typical offers include:

  • A-Levels: AAB–BBB, including Mathematics and/or Physics/Computer Science

  • International Baccalaureate (IB): 30–34 points, with Higher Level Mathematics and a science subject

  • BTEC Extended Diploma: DDM in a relevant subject (Engineering, IT, or Applied Science)

  • Access to HE Diploma: 60 credits, with a minimum of 30 credits at Distinction in relevant subjects

  • GCSE/National 4/National 5: Grade C/4 in English Language and Mathematics

English Proficiency

For international students, English language requirements typically include:

  • IELTS: 6.0–6.5 overall, with no individual component below 5.5

  • TOEFL iBT: 80–90 overall

  • PTE Academic: 58–65

Some universities may offer pre-sessional English courses for students who do not meet these requirements.
