BSc Psychology and Sociology

Course Overview

The BSc Psychology and Sociology programme at the University of Suffolk explores how the human mind functions and how society is structured. It combines psychological theories with sociological perspectives, teaching students to analyse existing ideas and develop their own viewpoints on human behaviour and social complexity — including topics such as inequality, power structures, and global social change.

The programme follows a ‘block and blend’ method, allowing students to focus on one or two subjects at a time for deeper learning. The University has recently invested in exceptional facilities, including a modern psychology laboratory housed within the £13 million Health and Wellbeing Building.

Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society (BPS), which is a key requirement for most professional psychology training programmes.
