Course Overview

The BSc Health and Social Care Top-up at University College Birmingham is a one-year programme designed to enhance students’ existing knowledge and prepare them to meet the complex care needs of society while supporting vulnerable individuals. The course includes 200 hours of work placement with industry partners and an independent research project relevant to the health and social care sector.

Students can choose modules in specialised areas such as Mental Wellbeing, Learning Disability, or Criminology. Teaching involves lectures, seminars, and personal tutorials. Assessment is approximately 80% coursework and 20% practical assessment.
