BSc Health and Social Care

The BSc Health and Social Care at University College Birmingham equips students to support the complex needs of individuals and communities. The three-year full-time course includes one day per week of vocational work placement, providing valuable professional experience throughout the programme.

The course is practical-based, with no formal written examinations. Assessments focus on applied knowledge and consist of 70% coursework and 30% practical assessments. Students can also enhance their professional profile with additional qualifications, including Mental Health First Aid and Basic Life Support.

University College Birmingham is a well-regarded institution with modern lecture theatres, specialised learning spaces, and extensive library resources, offering a balanced academic experience. The university provides a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including Health and Social Care, Business, Education, Hospitality, and Adult Nursing.

Applicants must submit a personal statement outlining their motivation for applying, along with an academic and/or employer reference. A CV may also be included to highlight relevant work experience.

Grade Requirements

• 112 UCAS tariff points, typically A-Levels at BBC, BTEC Extended Diploma at DMM, overall Merit in a T Level, or International Baccalaureate.
• Equivalent international qualifications are also accepted.

English Proficiency

• IELTS overall score of 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component for applicants from non-English speaking countries.
• Other qualifications, such as TOEFL, are also accepted.

The tuition fee for international students is £16,000 per year. Fees are subject to annual change.
