The Psychology Foundation Year programme has been developed to provide students with the foundational knowledge and academic skills needed for a degree in psychology. During the course, students will understand the basic debates and career opportunities related to the subject.
The course outline covers health, occupational, and sport psychology, and after a successful completion of this year, students are qualified to move on to a BSc (Hons) Psychology or BSc (Hons) Psychology with Criminology degree.
Students are taught through lectures and interactive workshops, and are introduced to central concepts and are given tasks to work on individually or in groups and are also assessed through regular evaluation throughout each subject, with an emphasis towards the end of each module. Students will also learn research and communication skills, which will be useful for future studies and employment.
