MSc Human Resource Management

Course Overview

The MSc Human Resource Management  at the University of South Wales provides students with advanced knowledge and skills to effectively manage people in the workplace. The course focuses on important areas like leadership, managing talent from around the world, training and development, performance management, and employee relations. This programme is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), which means it meets industry standards and helps students gain recognition in the HR field.

About University

The University of South Wales (USW) has campuses located in Cardiff, Newport, and Pontypridd. It was created in 2013 when the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport combined. USW plans to achieve Net Zero by 2040 and is ranked 23rd in the UK in the People & Planet University League for 2024/25.

USW is known for being inclusive, recognised as a University of Sanctuary that helps refugees and asylum seekers. It is also one of the best universities in Wales, ranking 11th in the UK for supporting new businesses started by graduates. Entry Requirements

  • In certain cases, applicants with three or more years of relevant managerial experience will be accepted.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants should have at least a UK 2:2 honours degree or an equivalent international qualification.

English Proficiency:

  • International candidates whose first language is not English need to have an IELTS score of 6.0, with at least 5.5 in each skill area. They can also use equivalent scores from TOEFL.

Cost of Study

International students enrolling in the University of South Wales MSc Human Resource Management programme for the 2025/26 academic year will pay the tuition fee of £16,900. Please keep in mind that this fee may be updated annually.

Scholarships

The University of South Wales offers various scholarships to assist international students with tuition fees and living expenses. One of these aid options is the International Office Scholarships, which provide undergraduates with up to £1,500 and postgraduates with up to £2,000.

For international students who have completed a top-up degree at USW and are self-funding, a Progression Fee Discount of £6,000 may be available for those advancing to a master’s programme. There are also Chancellor's International Development Scholarships, which provide £2,500 for students from certain countries for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
