BA Human Resource Management

Course Overview

This Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management (HRM) teaches students key skills to support, develop, and help people in companies reach their full potential. Students will learn about the changing world of HR, including how the company environment, dealing with challenges, and working in a global business are important. This course gets students ready to be modern HR professionals with the latest skills.

Students will take part in practical exercises, case studies, and projects, getting real-world experience through chances to work with businesses. Learning happens through lessons and workshops. Students will be graded on written work, reports, and presentations. The course also helps you find industry placements and can give you a Level 5 Certificate from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

Entry Requirements

To apply, applicants need to send a personal statement explaining why they want to do the course and other important details about their studies. Applicants will also need a reference from a teacher or an employer, and can choose to send their CV (a document showing their work history) with their application to show their experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants need 80-104 UCAS points from at least two A-levels, plus a GCSE grade 4 or higher in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications).
  • If you're an international student, this means a minimum of 65% in the India Standard XII or 28 points in the International Baccalaureate Diploma. If you don't have these exact qualifications, your application might still be considered if you have relevant work experience.

English Proficiency:

  • If English is not your first language, you will need an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with at least 5.5 in each part (listening, reading, writing, and speaking).
  • You can also provide scores from other accepted tests, such as a PTE Academic score of 52 overall, with at least 51 in each skill.

Cost of Study

For international students, the standard tuition fee for a full-time undergraduate degree for the 2025/26 academic year is £17,000 per year.

Scholarships

Teesside University offers several scholarships for eligible students. For international students studying at the Middlesbrough campus, the Global Excellence Scholarship offers a £2,000 fee reduction in the first full academic year of study. This scholarship is awarded automatically to eligible students who demonstrate academic excellence in their application. Other scholarships, such as the Vice Chancellor's Scholarship and China-specific scholarships, are also available for eligible students.
