Recognising brilliance-Qatari students shine at UK universities

HE Minister of Education and Higher Education, Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater, recognised 78 exceptional Qatari students studying at British universities for achieving "Excellent" grades in their foundation, first, and second years across different types of scientific and literary disciplines. Among the honoured students, the top 20 were evenly divided between male and female achievers.
This ceremony was held during HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s state visit to the United Kingdom, reflecting Qatar’s commitment to excellence in education.
HE the Minister extended her congratulations for students' great academic achievements at prestigious international institutions. She highlighted how their success proves the exceptional talent of Qatari students, enabling them to excel in many fields.
Her Excellency attributed this success to the visionary leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, whose investment in education has enabled Qatari students to study at top global universities in specialised fields. She noted that this policy strengthens Qatar’s knowledge-based economy, fosters leadership, and enhances the nation’s global competitiveness.
Her Excellency also emphasised the role of Qatar's educational system which prepare students to thrive globally. She repeated the Ministry’s commitment to providing students with opportunities to help them achieve their academic goals and expertise.
Fahad bin Mohammed Al Kuwari (Qatari Cultural Attaché to the UK and Republic of Ireland), praised the leadership’s support for education. He noted that the students’ great achievements came from their ambition, inspired by the country’s visionary leadership.
Al Kuwari stressed the importance of innovation and academic distinction as the cornerstones of Qatar’s future. He assured that education remains a top national priority, for the foundation of Qatar’s long-term progress.
He encouraged the students to maintain academic excellence and contribute to Qatar’s human and intellectual capital. Plus, he reminded them to embrace their roles as ambassadors of Qatar, upholding their national identity while studying in the UK. These efforts, he stated, will contribute significantly to reaching the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
This celebration of academic excellence proves Qatar’s dedication to appreciating talent and building a brighter future through education.
