MSc International Human Resource Management

Course Overview

There are always reasons to save money and resources. Sometimes it's because there isn't much to go around. Other times, it's to learn how to control spending. Just like we're told to turn off a tap so water isn't wasted, we're also told not to spend too much. This shows why it's important to manage things well and save for when things get tough. But it's not just about saving things like money; we also need to manage ourselves and other people.

The MSc International Human Resource Management at the University of Portsmouth is a one-year full-time course to prepare students for global HR careers. The course has CIPD approval and teaches how to manage people, understand different cultures, and work in international business. Students study global employment relations, talent management, leadership, and HR strategy. The course also addresses ethics and the impact of modernisation on HR practices, helping students develop practical skills and strategic thinking.

The course involves learning through lectures, seminars, and group work, promoting collaboration. Students are assessed using essays, presentations, exams, portfolios of their work, and a final dissertation.
