MSc Dementia Studies
Course overview
The MSc Dementia Studies course gives a complete and overall way of thinking about dementia. This condition causes a decline in cognitive abilities like memory, thinking, and reasoning that interferes with daily life and is a major problem worldwide. The course is for anyone working in health and social care for people with dementia, and its goal is to help them make life better for these individuals. It provides a full understanding of how dementia affects both the person who has it and the wider society.
This course teaches students how to give better care to people with dementia, and it usually takes one year if you study full-time or three years if students study part-time. The learning brings together important medical knowledge with key skills in talking to people in health and social care, doing research, and acting as a leader. Their work is checked by coursework, giving talks, and writing a main research paper.
