BSc Esports Event Management

Course Overview

This undergraduate degree prepares students for a career in the rapidly expanding esports industry. The programme combines academic theory with practical application, drawing on content and expertise from current industry professionals. Students will acquire the knowledge and skills needed to operate in dynamic teams within esports and live streaming.

The curriculum covers key areas including technology, marketing, events, and analytics. Teaching methods include recorded lectures, workshops, and seminars, complemented by field visits to industry venues. Assessments are varied and can consist of written assignments such as essays and reports, as well as presentations, vlogs, and examinations.

About University

The University of Sunderland is a globally recognised institution with a fantastic history of providing higher education. The university offers a wide range of courses, including the BSc Esports Event Management programme, with both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees available across many fields. The institution offers programmes in areas such as Medicine, Law, Engineering, Business, and the Arts, among others.

Entry Requirements

Candidates are required to provide a personal statement outlining their reasons for applying and other relevant information about their academic history. An academic and/or employer reference is also necessary. Students have the option to upload their CV to demonstrate any work experience they have.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants from the UK/EU need a total of 96–112 UCAS points. This can be achieved through A-levels, a BTEC Extended Diploma, or a Scottish Higher qualification.
  • Different qualifications, such as an Access to HE Diploma, may also be accepted.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds are required to submit an IELTS score of 6.0 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in each section) or an equivalent Secure English Language Test (SELT) score.

Cost of Study

The annual cost for international students is £16,500 per year.

Scholarships

The University of Sunderland provides several scholarships for its international students. The International Scholarships offer a tuition fee reduction for new international undergraduates. This is an automatic £5,000 reduction. Depending on the student's nationality, students might also be eligible for scholarships not directly from the university. These include well-known awards such as the Chevening Scholarship or Commonwealth Master's Scholarships.
