BA Media Production

The BA (Hons) Media Production at the University of Sunderland is a degree designed for anyone who wants to build a career in the creative media industries. The course gives you practical experience across film, television, radio, and digital media, covering everything from scriptwriting and camera work to editing, sound design, and live broadcasting. To apply, you will need to submit a personal statement about why media production gets you excited. If you have some creative work (a portfolio), then it can really help your case. A reference from a teacher or employer and a CV showcasing relevant experience are also required.

Grade Requirements:

• You will need 112–120 UCAS points, which could come from A-levels (around BBC, ideally including a media or arts subject) or a BTEC Extended Diploma in a creative field (DMM).
• GCSEs in English and maths at grade 4/C or above are required.
• Equivalent international qualifications are accepted—check their site for specifics.

English Proficiency:

• If English is not your first language, aim for an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with at least 5.5 in each part.
• TOEFL or PTE equivalents work too.

For international students, the tuition fee is £16,500 annually. Check the university’s website for the latest figures, as fees change yearly.
