FdSc Forensic Sciences

Course Overview

The Foundation Degree in Science (FdSc) in Forensic Sciences provides students with a solid foundation in both the theoretical and practical aspects required for careers in forensic laboratories and scientific support services. This two-year full-time programme is delivered at East Coast College (Lowestoft) and focuses on applying biological and chemical principles to forensic science, with key modules covering legal and investigative processes.

Students will complete compulsory modules such as Criminal Investigation, Lab Techniques for Forensics, Forensics and Criminal Psychology, and Introduction to the Forensic Process and Law. While this is a full-time programme, students attend classes only one to two days per week, allowing flexibility to balance work or other responsibilities alongside their studies.
