MSc Systems Engineering Management

Course Overview

The MSc Systems Engineering Management programme teaches the complicated management needs of systems engineering projects, combining engineering principles with more developed business and management skills. The course teaches graduates the skills to apply a systems thinking approach when handling complex technical systems by considering technical, human, and organisational factors.

The course focuses on engineered systems, but students will gain other valuable skills that apply to complex systems. Through compulsory and optional modules, students will gain special skills for managing systems engineering projects, including systems decomposition and integration, complexity management, lifecycle management, and verification and validation. Students will participate in group projects with industry clients and a final dissertation.

Entry Requirements

Candidates need to submit a personal statement and relevant information regarding their studies, an academic and/or employer reference, and their CVs to show their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Candidates need a first-class or second-class degree or an international equivalent degree in Engineering, technology, Science, or a business-related course.

English Proficiency:

  • Candidates need an overall score of 6.5 in the IELTS Academic test, with no score below 5.5.
  • Other English language test scores, such as PTE Academic and TOEFL IBT, are accepted, amongst others.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for the MSc Systems Engineering Management at the University of Strathclyde for international students is £31,100, which is subject to change yearly.

Scholarships

Strathclyde Business School offers various scholarships to international students who excel academically. These scholarships can reduce the financial burden of pursuing a master's degree. They include the Strathclyde Business School Master's Scholarships for International Students, where some students may receive awards ranging from £9,000 to £12,000, while others might be eligible for automatic scholarships worth £6,000 to £8,000 simply by applying for postgraduate courses.
