The BSc Hons Speech & Language Pathology from the University of Strathclyde will teach students how to assess and treat a wide variety of speech, language and communication problems. The four-year Honours degree programme covers four key subject areas: speech and language pathology, linguistics and phonetics, psychology and medical sciences.
Students will undertake work placements throughout the four years, allowing them to develop skills working with people with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties. The course will give students a more detailed understanding of the anatomical structures of the body that relate to the production of speech. They will study the head, neck, and chest along with related disorders, as well as the anatomy of the central nervous system and its related conditions.
