Course Overview

BA (Hons) Business and Management at the University of South Wales is designed to prepare you for the real world of work, with a strong focus on practical experience and career readiness. You’ll gain a solid foundation in key business areas and develop the skills employers look for, all while working on live briefs from real companies.

The course is delivered in two 10-week blocks per year, using hands-on, active learning. Rather than a traditional dissertation, you’ll have the option to take on a consultancy project with one of the university’s business partners. Alongside your degree, you’ll also earn the CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership, putting you on the path to Chartered Manager status at no extra cost.

About University

The University of South Wales (USW) is a modern and ambitious institution, established in 2013 through the merger of the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport. With a student population exceeding 30,000, including over 4,000 international students from more than 120 countries, USW is one of the largest universities in the UK.

Entry Requirements

Grade Requirements:

  • To be considered for admission to the University of South Wales, applicants are typically expected to have a minimum of 96 UCAS tariff points. This can be achieved through a range of qualifications, including A Levels with grades of CCC or equivalent. 
  • Those applying with a BTEC Extended Diploma should have achieved grades of Merit, Merit, Merit (MMM). Access to Higher Education Diploma holders are required to pass the diploma and obtain at least 96 UCAS tariff points. 
  • T Level applicants should have achieved a minimum overall grade of Pass with a C or above in the core component.

English Proficiency:

To show proof of English proficiency, international applicants are expected to have any of the following: 

  • An overall score of IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component. 
  • TOEFL of 72 overall and a minimum of 18 in reading, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing.
  • Equivalent tests are also accepted.

Cost of Study

The annual tuition fee to study Business and Management at the University of South Wales is £15,850. However, tuition fees may be amended in accordance with the university’s Fees and Debt Management Policy. 

Scholarships

The University of South Wales offers several scholarship opportunities to support international students financially throughout their studies. One of the main awards available is the Chancellor’s International Development Scholarship, which provides eligible students with a reduction of £2,500 per year on their tuition fees. Additionally, the Early CAS Scholarship rewards students who are Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) ready by specific deadlines — 31st May for the September intake or 31st October for the January/February intake — with an additional £500 deduction applied to each year of their studies.

International students from the EU may also benefit from the EU Student Scholarship, which aligns tuition fees with the UK home rate for the full duration of their course. These scholarships are automatically considered based on academic merit or application timelines, and they reflect the University of South Wales' commitment to providing accessible and high-quality education to students from around the globe.
