BA Fashion Business and Promotion

This course prepares you to take a leading role in the fast-moving fashion industry. You'll consider the fashion industry in its entirety while developing a broad range of practical and technical skills required to succeed. The course introduces you to the importance of sustainability and enables you to define your role in shaping the future of fashion retail. You will develop real-time skills with the knowledge and understanding of blogging, influencers, marketing, and trend prediction, whilst all the time developing essential analysis and business entrepreneurial skills.  

You'll be taught through a combination of lectures, seminars, and practical sessions. Seminars will help you to develop your understanding of topics covered in lectures, along with timetabled meetings with your tutor. Throughout your degree, your assignments will consist of essays, reports, portfolios, performances, presentations, and your final year project. Grades from your formal assessments will count towards your final degree classification. 

The course is based at the £55 million New Adelphi building, which offers studio space, a Maker Space workshop, photography studios, and Mac suites. Upon completion of this degree, you’ll graduate as a highly employable professional with a wide range of sought-after transferable skillsets.

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• To gain a place on the BA (Hons) fashion business and promotion degree, you will need 104-112 UCAS tariff points.

• This can be achieved by having A-Levels with grades BBC, a Merit in a T Level, or a DMM in a BTEC. Other international qualifications that are seen as being the same level as A-Levels are also accepted.

English Proficiency:

• If you are an international student and not from a majority English-speaking country, you will need IELTS 6.0 with no element below 5.5. The university also accepts a range of other English language qualifications, such as TOEFL or PTE.

For international students enrolling full-time in the 2025/26 academic year, the tuition fee is £17,650 per year.

The University of Salford offers various scholarships for international students, including the Chevening, NCUK, and Commonwealth Scholarships. They also provide Global Gold and Silver Excellence Scholarships, offering tuition fee discounts. Additionally, a 20% loyalty discount is available for continuing students, and a 3% discount is offered for prompt payment of fees. In 2022, they supported over 2,500 international students with scholarships and bursaries.
