MSc Clinical Nutrition
Course overview
This Master's programme was the first of its kind in the UK and is officially approved by the Association for Nutrition. It gives students expert skills to improve people's health by tackling issues like malnutrition, disease, and weight problems. The course covers how the body reacts to illness or injury, providing nutritional help for patients of all ages, and managing health problems like stomach and gut issues.
Students get to learn by working in modern laboratories, which include a food lab with special booths for sensory tasting. They will study key topics like how the body uses food (metabolism), how nutrients are taken in (absorption), and how to plan sustainable diets. Their final grade is based on practical projects that copy the work of a professional nutritionist, making sure they are ready for a job, and includes completing a big scientific research project.
