University of Portsmouth

Course overview

This BSc Psychology at the University of Portsmouth takes three years full-time and is officially accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). It focuses on the science of the mind and human behaviour, helping students learn how people think, act, and feel. This degree is the compulsory first step for a career in psychology. Students can also choose a four-year option that includes a work placement.

Students get to use modern equipment, such as eye-tracking technology, and a lab to study body and mind responses to support their practical work. Their final mark is determined by a combination of written assignments and exams. If they earn a grade of 2:2 or higher, they can apply to become graduate members of the BPS.
