BSc Business and Supply Chain Management

Course Overview

This BSc (Hons) Business and Supply Chain Management programme provides a comprehensive understanding of business principles and the complexities of supply chain systems. You will investigate risk and strategic management, logistics management, and learn how to procure goods and manage supply lines. The course uses professional industry software, systems and tools to help you explore the ethics and sustainability of global supply chains.  

Learning and assessment methods include essays, presentations, projects, exams and computer-based assignments. You will also be able to participate in an optional paid placement year to gain valuable industry experience with companies such as IBM and Boeing. This course equips you with specialist knowledge and understanding of business, ensuring you graduate with a set of management and specific skills that are in demand in the workplace.

About University

The University of Portsmouth has earned business accreditation from the AACSB, which is held by less than 6% of the world's schools offering business degree programmes. Business and management studies at the University of Portsmouth are ranked 2nd among modern universities by research power, according to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) in 2021. 

The university has partnered with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) so that students can gain a value-added professional qualification alongside their degree. The institution offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in fields such as Medicine, Law, Engineering, Business and the Arts.

Entry Requirements

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • The grades needed for 2025/26 entry are between 112 and 120 UCAS tariff points. This can be achieved through different qualifications, such as A-Levels at grades BBC, a Merit in a T Level qualification, or a DMM grade in a BTEC qualification. The university also accepts international qualifications that are considered equal to A-Levels.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need to score 6.0 overall in IELTS (with 5.5 in each section). The university also accepts other equivalent English language qualifications, such as TOEFL or PTE.

Cost of Study

For international students starting the BSc Business and Supply Chain Management programme in the 2025/2026 academic year, the yearly tuition fee is £17,200. Please note that this fee may increase each year.

Scholarships

The University of Portsmouth offers several scholarships for international students at the undergraduate level. These include the Chancellor's Global Academic Merit Scholarship, which provides a £5,000 reduction in the first year's tuition fees. Additionally, the Vice Chancellor's Global Development Scholarship offers a £2,500 reduction in fees for the first year.
