MSc International Business and Management

University of Kent

Course overview

The University of Kent’s one-year MSc International Business and Management programme is structured to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of global business operations and strategic management techniques. The course teaches important subjects like global economics, finance and accounting for international managers, current topics in international business, and how to create strategies for large international companies. Students also learn about global value chain management and brand and product management, equipping them with the skills to perform well in the international markets.

An interesting fact about this course is its accreditation by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and the Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT). Upon completion, students receive the CMI Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice, enhancing their leadership credentials. The programme also offers flexibility with start dates in September and January, and the option to include an industrial placement, providing practical experience in international business settings.

Students learn in lectures, seminars, and workshops, so they get both the theory and the hands-on experience. Assessment methods include coursework, group projects, presentations, and examinations, ensuring a thorough evaluation of their assimilation. Graduates are ready for leadership positions, and companies like Deloitte, JP Morgan & Chase, BP, and Pace Capital often hire Kent Business School graduates.
