MSc International Business with Advanced Research
Course overview
The University of Hertfordshire's MSc International Business with Advanced Research is a two-year programme that thoroughly explains how businesses operate globally while developing your research skills. In your first year, you will explore essential business areas, including economics, finance, strategy, marketing, management, human resources, and supply chain management.
In your second year, the programme concentrates on building the skills you'll need for further academic study and your career. This involves completing an independent, substantial research project in a business area that interests you. Throughout the two years, you will develop a distinct set of skills highly valued by employers globally, including effective communication, strong numerical abilities, teamwork, reflective learning, and the capacity to assess complex business problems and devise innovative solutions. Importantly, there are no tuition fees for the second year of this course. You'll also have the chance to establish an international network, creating connections that could prove invaluable in your professional life.
Postgraduate studies at the University of Hertfordshire are among the best in the UK, compared with over 100 other universities. This is demonstrated by excellent results, such as ranking 6th in Business and Management in the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES, 2024), and 1st for Skills Development, 2nd for Support, Resources, Community and Assessment (Advanced HE, 2023). You'll learn via different methods, including small group discussions, practical workshops, online learning, case study analysis, and lectures. Your progress will be assessed through written reports of varying lengths, presentations, in-class tests, and practical assignments. For the research part of your programme, you will also complete a research project.
