Course overview

The University of Hertfordshire BSc Midwifery (Pre-registration) helps students gain the capability to provide midwifery care with competence and effectiveness. The programme will allow the students to gain knowledge and skills, along with the compassion required to provide midwifery care.

The programme includes aspects of care during pregnancy, labour, and the postnatal period, with emphasis on gaining clinical experience. Students will gain sound knowledge of what is normal and healthy in childbearing women and recognise and manage any problems that may arise during pregnancy and delivery.

Entry requirements

Grade requirements:

  • Prospective International students applying for the BSc Midwifery (Pre-registration) at the University of Hertfordshire will require a minimum of 120-128 UCAS Tariff points or an equivalent qualification. 

English Language Requirements:

  • International students applying for the BSc Midwifery (Pre-registration) at the University of Hertfordshire will require a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.0 with a 5.5 or more in each component or an internationally accepted equivalent.

  • Jarvis Centenary Scholarship

    £5,000 (over three years of study: £1,000 in the first year, £2,000 each in the second and third years) with at least one site visit or period of work experience with Jarvis Homes

Cost of study

The tuition fee for International students studying  BSc Midwifery (Pre-registration)   in the University of Hertfordshire is £18,280 per year.
