MA Landscape Architecture
Course overview
The MA Landscape Architecture at the University of Greenwich is designed to help graduates build the skills they need for today’s landscape and urban design industry. The course follows a curriculum that mixes design work with theory and practical learning, giving students a clear understanding of how the field works in real life.
During this programme, students learn how to design for changing cities, environmental pressures, and sustainable development. They also build strong creative and technical skills through studio projects, research tasks, and hands-on design exercises.
Learning takes place through lectures, seminars, studio workshops, and regular design reviews led by academics and practising professionals. Assessment includes coursework, presentations, studio feedback, and a major design project with a written thesis.
In the final stage of the course, students complete their main design project and thesis. Research visits and engagement with professional practice also give them valuable industry insight. The university offers career support throughout the degree, with graduates often moving into roles in landscape architecture, urban design, planning, or research.
